Arzábal Bernabéu has become the first restaurant in Madrid to receive the international Biosphere Sustainable certification, a recognition awarded to companies that manage sustainability in a comprehensive manner and align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
This certification evaluates three major areas—environment; people, society, and culture; and responsible management and economy—confirming that the restaurant integrates sustainability as a core aspect of its identity.
A model of sustainability
Highlighted actions include improving energy efficiency, reducing water consumption, optimizing waste management, and collaborating with local suppliers. Additionally, initiatives focused on the wellbeing of the staff have been strengthened, and systems for transparent measurement and management have been implemented to ensure traceability and the fulfillment of objectives.
This recognition aligns with the commitment and values of the Bernabéu, a venue that prioritizes energy efficiency, circularity, and the use of renewable energy. The Bernabéu has emphasized the reuse of infrastructure and resource optimization in its remodeling project, transforming it into a space open 365 days a year with an offering that combines top-tier gastronomy, like Arzábal Bernabéu, with exceptional experiences, all while maintaining its dedication to sustainability and innovation.
