The Bernabéu takes another step forward in its evolution as a multifunctional space by opening its doors to the most urban and cosmopolitan expression of contemporary art.
Félix Reboto (Madrid, 1978), globally known as Spok Brillor and an international reference in muralism, has signed an authentic masterpiece integrated within the internal galleries of the stadium, marking a before and after in the history of the Bernabéu.
This mural, the first of its kind in all of Europe, is a project that redefines the space as a catalyst for visual experiences. Located on level 4, it is part of the most interactive and futuristic activity of the Bernabéu Tour, Realmadrid Games, and its location is strategically designed to transform the physical and emotional perception of the visitor.
This project, conceived by Antonio Yzaga, integrates art with architecture and aims to highlight the relationship between the two, as well as the connection of the artist and the stadium with the city of Madrid. “It is a tribute to the stadium itself. The Bernabéu is a magical, iconic space, and leaving a piece of myself here is something that doesn’t happen every day. It is very interesting to be part of a cultural project within an architectural space like this, which can open the door to new opportunities,” stated Spok Brillor, whose works have shined in the world’s top galleries such as London’s TATE Modern, the ARCO contemporary art fair, or the Thyssen Museum.
The Bernabéu is already an icon of football and is now set to also become a reference in the world of culture and art.
